LET’S ROLL! THREE SUSHI PLACES IN DRIVING DISTANCE OF WAYNE, NJ

BAMBOO TAKEI SUSHI

This place is located at 142 US-202 here in Wayne. They are closed on Sunday and Monday, and from Tuesday through Thursday they are open from 11 AM until 8:30 PM. On Fridays, they stay open until 9:30 PM. On Saturday, they open a little later at noon and close at 9:30. This is a small spot, but everyone here is very friendly, and it has been in business long enough that it has become a real community stable, which is a testament to its quality.

We recommend that you order their lunch special the L 2–6. This is two pieces each of salmon, tuna, and white fish sushi with their fabulous miso soup and a California roll. They also do an amazing ginger salad, some great shrimp steamed dumplings, and a flower roll, which is one of our favorites. The flower roll is tuna with a salmon crabcake and yellow radish and cucumber.

LEE’S WAYNE SUSHI

You can get good sushi at this family-friendly spot located in the Glen Ridge shopping center at 1475 NJ-23. They are open every day of the week. From Monday through Saturday they are open from 11 AM until 10 PM. On Sundays, they open from noon until 9:30 PM. The spot is very casual, and it’s a good spot to go to if you have people in your group who enjoy Asian flavors but don’t actually like sushi.

They have some great combination boxes, and our kids are particularly fond of their chicken box. They also have interesting noodle dishes and a really great yook gae jang, which is shredded beef with scallions and mushrooms in a spicy soup. But the sushi here is also great and some of our favorite. Their sashimi lunch is a really great deal, and their sushi and sashimi lunch is perfect if you can’t decide what exactly you want.

NIGIRI SUSHI

If you want something a little bit special, roll on up to Nigiri Sushi for a meal. They have some of the very finest sushi in the area, and you will find them at 807 Franklin Ave. in Franklin Lakes. From Tuesday through Thursday they are open from 11:30 AM until 9:30 PM. On Friday and Saturday, they open from 11:30 AM until 10 PM.

On Sunday, they are open from noon until 9:30 PM. You can expect good service, quality food, and speed here. The sushi here is some of the fresh as we’ve ever eaten, and we highly recommend anything with tuna and all of their dumpling options.
